Her mother dedicated her life to ensuring the hitmaker gets to pursue her dream of becoming a singer.
After growing up in a 15-acre Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania, Taylor’s parents decided to move to Nashville when she started receiving recognition. They packed up their life in a bid to help the young singer-songwriter’s dreams come true. She landed her first major record deal with Sony at just age 14. But Andrea was clear about not putting pressure on her daughter.
She explained previously: “I never wanted to make that move about her ‘making it.
“Because what a horrible thing if it hadn’t happened, for her to carry that kind of guilt or pressure around. And we moved far enough outside Nashville [to nearby Hendersonville] to where she didn’t have to be going to school with producers’ kids and label presidents’ kids and be reminded constantly that she was struggling to make it.”
