Hailey Bieber was once rushed to hospital when Justin noticed scary symptoms at breakfast

Hailey Bieber is celebrating her 27th birthday today, and despite what some may think, she hasn’t had the easiest ride in her late 20s, as in March 2022, she was rushed to hospital after a frightening health scare, which turned out to be a blood clot.

The model was taken to the hospital after experiencing scary ‘stroke-like symptoms’ at breakfast with her music star husband, Justin Bieber.

The star opened up about the health scare on her Instagram in March 2022, two days after she was hospitalized, where she was told she had suffered a very small blood clot on her brain.

Taking to her story, the 27-year-old penned: “On Thursday morning, I was sitting at breakfast with my husband when I started having stroke-like symptoms and was taken to the hospital.”

“They found I had suffered a very small blood clot to my brain, which caused a small lack of oxygen, but my body had passed it on its own and I recovered completely within a few hours,” she said before calling it “one of the scariest moments I’ve ever been through.”

“Although this was definitely one of the scariest moments I’ve ever been through, I’m home now and doing well, and I’m so grateful and thankful to all the amazing doctors and nurses who took care of me!”

“Thank you to everyone who has reached out with well wishes and concern, and for all the support and love,” she concluded her statement,” she concluded.

Justin took to his Instagram at the time to post a cute couple photo of the two holding hands, as he wrote in the caption: “Can’t keep this one down.”

In a video a month after the incident, she opened up about her symptoms in more detail, recalling how she felt a “weird sensation” traveling down from her arm to her shoulder, all the way down to her fingertips. She revealed that she couldn’t speak, and the right side of her face started dropping.

The star also had to undergo heart surgery

Although Hailey recovered in a couple of days, it wasn’t all over just yet. Afterward, she had to have heart surgery, as docs discovered she had a patent foramen ovale (PFO).

This is a hole between the left and right atria (upper chambers) of the heart, as per Penn Medicine. The hole exists in everyone before birth, however closes shortly after. PFO is when this hole fails to close naturally.

The doctors then concluded that the blood clot had traveled to her heart and escaped through the hole to her brain, instead of being absorbed in her lungs.

Although it was a terribly scary situation, the star said she recovered fast.

“The biggest thing I feel, honestly, is I just feel really relieved that we were able to figure everything out, that we were able to get it closed, that I will be able to just move on from this really scary situation and just live my life,” she told fans.
