Meghan Markle knows how to make an entrance. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are no strangers to lavish events filled to the brim with celebrities by now. Her latest appearance, though, has unveiled hidden moments where Prince Harry appears like a ‘trophy husband’, an expert has said.

The royals have been making the most of the spotlight. Meghan Markle and Harry were special guests at Kevin Costner’s recent charity event this week. They presented an award at the One805 Live! special day. But a body language expert has looked over the clip, where she says Prince Harry looks like a ‘trophy husband’ through small gestures from the Duchess.

Meghan and Prince Harry have been in the news a lot over the past month. The Duke’s highly-anticipated Invictus Games where veterans compete in challenging bouts returned this year.

It came a few weeks after the royal’s Netflix documentary, Invictus, released on the streaming giant. In the docuseries, athletes across the globe were followed in the lead up to the 2022 Games. It also followed Harry, who founded the global event, which helps wounded service members health through sports and teams.

It showcases a spotlight onto mental health, which is something Harry is passionate about. The 39-year-old has opened up over the issue many times over the years. This includes projects with his brother Prince William and sister-and-law. Harry, Wills and Kate Middleton set up Heads Together, to encourage people to speak about their mental well-being.

Meghan joined the Duke after the games began, turning up in $40k of glam. She also gave an impromptu speech and apologized for being late. The Duchess was looking after their two kiddos at home in their Montecito mansion.

Now, they were spotted as special guests at Costner’s celebrity-filled charity event this week. There was one awkward moment where Meghan Markle tried to take a microphone from someone’s hand, which was caught on camera. But a body language expert has analyzed another clip of the royals.

Judi James told The Sun’s Fabulous magazine: “Meghan clearly stamps this one as ‘Her’ event, with Harry looking slightly sheepish and out of place as they mingle with the guests and celebrities at this Santa Barbara charity bash.

“Meghan’s trait of hand-clenching, with her hands clasped high at chest level and her rather overkill smile shows how delighted she is to be there, and the way she steers [Prince] Harry about makes him look suspiciously like a trophy husband.”

Judi added says the awkward “toe-curling” moment when Kevin Costner arrives to accept the award saw a difference between the pair. She says Harry stood behind his wife, so she could “take the award of fthe stand to hand it to Harry”. Judi says it’s “placing her in the role of parent” with the couple.

Then, when Meghan places her hand on the Duke’s back, it was as though she was “steering a small, sheepish child” towards the movie star, the expert says.
