Super Bowl: Hillary Clinton's tweet 'slammed' for congratulating 'Taylor's boyfriend'

As Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs took home the Super Bowl champion title for a fourth time, Hillary Clinton posted a tweet ‘celebrate’ them, but fans were less than impressed.

America, and the globe, eagerly watched on as Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in the biggest sporting event of the year. The NFL has drawn in many new fans this season, with the help of Taylor Swift, and by her tweet, it looks like Hillary Clinton may be one of them…

Hillary Clinton tweets congratulations to ‘Taylor’s boyfriend’ after Super Bowl win

Like the rest of the States, the 76-year-old took to X, formerly known as Twitter after the Super Bowl, in a tweet that fans “can’t believe is real” – but Hillary Clinton did do it.

“Congratulations to Taylor’s boyfriend – and the entire Kansas City Chiefs community!” she wrote, alongside a heart, and football emoji.

Although probably meant as a joke, some did see the funny side. However, others were calling the former Secretary of State ‘disrespectful’ for not acknowledging Kelce in her tweet.

“Can’t believe this tweet is real,” wrote one.

Another, joining in on the ‘joke’ said: “Hey Bill’s wife, did you enjoy the game?”

“Damn Hilary…. he has a name,” penned another.

A fourth wrote: “You couldn’t come up with a lamer tweet if you tried.”

However, some Super Bowl fans did see the funny side of Hillary Clinton’s tweet, as one penned: “Can’t stand you, but guyuurrrl! I’m cackling!”

It’s not the first time the former First Lady has been ‘mocked’ for one of her posts on the platform. After Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie’s Oscars ‘snub’ she took to X to tell them they’re “more than Kenough.”

However, once again, fans were not impressed with her trying to ‘jump in on trends.’ Maybe she should take a break from the platform for a while…

As the Kansas City Chiefs and their fans celebrated the huge win, Swifties had their own celebration going on for Travis and Taylor’s adorable PDA moment.

Everyone’s favorite celebrity couple then had all eyes on them as Taylor took to the field, as they engaged in a hug and a kiss as Trav adorably exclaimed: “Come here, girl!”

It’s been a busy week for the pair, as Taylor Swift just came off the first round of the 2024 leg of her Eras Tour, in Tokyo. Fears had been circulating that she wouldn’t be able to make it to the Super Bowl, but of course, she didn’t let a 13-hour flight stand in the way.
